SELC Church Planting exists to initiate and support replicating New Testament Churches.

We believe that church planting is the collective responsibility of the entire Church.  That means every church can plant churches.  And we know what you’re thinking: “My church? Plant churches? No way!”  Well we’re here to walk with you through resourcing your congregation to grow, dream, and plan toward planting replicating New Testament churches.  It’s an ambitious task for sure.  and we can’t wait to take it on together!

Do you know a potential church planter?

We anticipate launching our first training cohort of church planters in early 2023 and we’re looking for entrepreneurial leaders who have a passion for seeing the work of the Kingdom expand in their local context.  These candidates need not be called church workers at the current moment.  Our training will help them to leverage their entrepreneurial spirit while access the necessary resources to administer the gospel through the appropriate means.

What is a New Testament church?

New Testament churches are local congregations established in cultures that do not necessarily welcome them. They are zealously faithful to the Jesus, the Scriptures, and the Lutheran Confessions. New Testament churches understand that some attitudes and practices that have grown up over the centuries in Christian cultures need to be evaluated for the current mission context.  We believe that New Testament churches will be Gospel-Fueled, Outwardly-Focused, Discipleship-Driven, and Multiplication-Minded.

Gospel Fueled

Healthy churches proclaim the gospel that saves sinners.

Outward Focused

Healthy churches meet the needs of the cities to which they’re sent.

Discipleship Driven

Healthy churches cultivate life-on-life environments where people learn to live like Jesus.

Multiplication Minded

Healthy churches plan and train for seizing opportunities to start new things.
